The Celbridge Concert Orchestra (Previously – Liffey Valley Orchestra, based in Celbridge (Co Kildare), was established by Claire Condron in 1991 to provide an opportunity for both young and mature musicians to come together to enjoy and learn by playing in an orchestral setting. The ethos of the CCO is to support and encourage each musician to reach their full musical potential in an inclusive rather than competitive environment.

Over the last two decades the CCO has performed in many major venues such as:

  • The National Concert Hall
  • The Aula Maxima, Maynooth University
  • The Royal College of Surgeons
  • Disneyland Paris
  • The St. Laurence O’Toole Cathedral, France

We have also played at many local and county events.

As each year passed new and different musical challenges were met.  From inter-school competitions to playing with soloists, singers and dancers the CCO have grown in ability and experience.

Recently (in 2013) the international violinist Catriona Ryan was our special guest.  The orchestra accompanied her performance of The Thais Meditation, and the theme music from ‘Schindler’s List’.

The orchestra’s repertoire ranges from the classics to music from the movies.

The CCO welcomes musicians from Grade One (and above) standard and has an instrument rental scheme to assist members.   If you love music come and meet with us for an audition.
